Remote Hadoop Developer

Summit Human Capital is seeking a Hadoop Developer to support a government client in Washington, DC (remote through the end of 2020). This candidate should have extensive big data experience within a Hadoop ecosystem and will have the opportunity to support a globally known client that is a top provider is cyber security solutions. The ideal candidate will also meet the following criteria:


• 10+ years of experience with building large scalable distributed systems and data pipelines • 3+ years of experience developing applications in a Hadoop environment using tools including Spark, Impala, Hive, Sqoop, Oozie, or HBase • Big Data transformation, quality, and exploration experience • Experience with structured, semi-structured, and un-structured data formats • Proficiency with java, python, and/or scala • Relational database experience including SQL Server and Hadoop databases • DevOps, development automation, and CI/CD experience • Agile and scrum methodology experience • Experience designing, coding, testing, and documenting software solutions and best practices • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline


• Cloudera Certification • NiFi or Cloudera Data Flow knowledge • Familiarity with Hadoop components like Kudu, Kafka, Flume, Solr, or ZooKeeper • Experience troubleshooting hive/impala queries and with query optimization


• Build distributed systems and data pipelines in in-batch and real-time modes • Design, test, and document software solutions for using appropriate frameworks in a CI/CD environment
