Construction Project Manager

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Construction Project Manager to support our client in the Raleigh and Wilmington, NC regions, known for delivering complex building projects. This position has the exciting opportunity to lead large, cross-functional teams in the deployment of enterprise-wide construction projects and programs, while developing and supporting project management methodology across the organization. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in construction of complex buildings and systems
• Detailed knowledge of PMBOK and project management best practices
• Exceptional time management, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, and VISIO; familiar with CAD and CAFM systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications

Desired:

• PMP certification
• Retail construction experience
• Proven record of successful construction project administration

Responsibilities:

• Develop, deploy, train, and support project management methodology for the corporation
• Lead matrix-managed teams and vendors to deliver business solutions across multiple projects
• Create and manage project plans, budgets, and deliverables using best practice project management methods
• Track project progress, prepare status reports, and proactively identify and resolve issues
• Define project roles, responsibilities, and scope; act as owner’s representative at construction meetings
• Promote customer involvement, coordinate internal and external resources, and communicate project status to stakeholders
• Enforce effective change control, participate in bid processes, and maintain detailed project records
• Apply lessons learned from prior projects and encourage escalations to resolve issues
