Director of Enterprise Integrations

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Director of Technology to support our Fortune 150 client in Newport News. This position has the exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of enterprise integration across a highly diversified business, driving modernization from legacy ERP systems to scalable, API-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Requirements:

• Strong experience leading enterprise integration and middleware strategy
• Proven background with API platforms, integration layers, and system interoperability
• Experience modernizing legacy systems into API-first or event-driven architectures
• Leadership experience managing large, distributed teams (including global teams)
• Ability to operate at both strategic and technical awareness levels (not hands-on coding, but deeply engaged)
• Experience working across applications, data, and infrastructure teams
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in cloud or hybrid environments (Azure)
• US Citizenship required

Desired:

• Hands-on background earlier in career in architecture or development
• Experience with tools such as API gateways, event streaming, messaging platforms
• Experience in Agile, DevOps, and product-oriented delivery models

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the enterprise integration and middleware strategy
• Lead modernization of legacy integration patterns into API-driven architecture
• Oversee design and delivery of integration solutions across enterprise systems
• Establish integration standards, governance, and lifecycle management
• Partner with business and technology leaders to align integrations with business outcomes
• Drive operational excellence, including system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Build and lead high-performing integration and middleware teams
• Ensure systems meet compliance requirements including security and SOX controls

The base pay range for this position is $190,000 – $210,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
