Summit Human Capital is searching for an experienced Director of Business Development and Capture Management/Client to be part of a unit focused on the Department of Homeland Security within the Intelligence Community. This full-time position is based in Herndon, Virginia.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years leading Federal business development and capture management at Client, including proven success in strategic captures exceeding $50M.
  • Extensive expertise in National Security market dynamics, demonstrating strong customer relationships and a deep understanding of the industry.
  • Track record of concurrently leading multiple captures at various stages of the opportunity lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), contract types, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Proven ability to confidently engage with executives, thriving in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Flexible leadership approach, capable of leading teams remotely or in-office based on opportunity requirements and business needs.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a must, with either a current Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop winning strategies and capture plans for client base expansion and existing business retention.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities, maintaining a strategic pipeline aligned with the business unit’s plan.
  • Utilize cutting-edge market intelligence tools for enhanced industry insights.
  • Engage specialized consultants to leverage expertise in advancing business objectives.
  • Guide opportunities through the entire business development lifecycle, including gate reviews.
  • Proactively shape opportunities before RFP release through strategic customer engagement.
  • Analyze company and bid strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Identify teaming partners and conduct competitor analyses for informed decision-making.
  • Expand industry and customer network through active participation in events and effective marketing.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of services, capabilities, partnerships, past performance, and responses.
