Power Flow Engineer

Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated 100% Remote Power Flow Engineer to support our client in the utility industry. This person will be developing electrical distribution models and power flow algorithms to address real-world problems. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Requirements:

· Programming experience using Python

· Great knowledge of transmission/distribution circuit modeling and power flow algorithms or power system modeling

· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Master's degree in Power Systems simulation/power flow or a related field

Desired:

· 2+ years of working experience at a utility, National lab, or vendor that supplies products to utilities

· Experience developing software products for the utility industry

· Good knowledge of DER/DERM technologies and simulation

Responsibilities:

· Working alongside Data Scientists and Engineers to create models for analyzing power flow of the electrical grid

· Re-write algorithms to increase power distribution efficiency

· Developing smart meter solutions, optimizing grid data solutions, hosting capacity, and load forecasting

· Mentor junior developers in code reviews and communicate team progress and any issues
