Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Hybrid/Remote Mid-Level Backend Java Developer working for a local Fintech client in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

- 3+ years of professional experience creating object-oriented software.
- Skilled in Java Spring Boot, particularly in developing REST APIs.
- Proficient in SQL/PostgreSQL for managing data services.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and RDS.
- Capable of working well in teams and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- Experienced in all stages of application development, from design to support.
- Willingness to learn about financial planning and personal finance.
Desired:
- Experience with React/Remix and JavaScript
Responsibilities
- Design & Develop SpringBoot applications using Java programming language.
- Collaborate with small team to design, develop, and deploy brand new solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code from scratch that meets industry standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing code, and provide timely resolutions.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development, and apply them to improve the quality and performance of applications.
- Write and execute unit tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of code.
- Work with databases and data structures to store, retrieve, and manipulate data.
