Summit Human Capital is looking for a highly motivated 100% Kafka Administrator for one of our top clients in the Richmond VA area, the ideal candidate will meet the following:
Required Skills:
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience working as an administrator of Kafka
- Proficiency in Kong architecture, installation, configuration, and tuning using 2 or more of Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry
- Strong understanding of Kafka internals, including topics, partitions, replication, and consumer/producer APIs.
- Knowledge of DevOps, Linux systems, and Shell scripting.
- Experience working in AWS or Azure with containerization experience (Docker/Kubernetes)
Desired Skills:
- Kafka Certifications & Confluent Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCAAK))
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and configure Kafka clusters following best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design Kafka infrastructure to meet data streaming needs.
- Manage topics, partitions, replication factors, and broker configurations to ensure efficient data distribution and fault tolerance.
- Set up systems to keep an eye on performance and be ready to respond quickly to any issues like slowdowns, lack of resources, or unusual behavior.
- Optimize Kafka configurations, brokers, and consumer/producer applications for optimal throughput and latency.
- Put in place and oversee security protocols like encryption, authentication, and permission management to safeguard data privacy and meet industry regulations.
- Document Kafka configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting procedures
