SHC Federal is seeking a Civil Engineer who will lead and assist with all design aspects of a CCC data center support systems, to include AC/DC power, UPS, HVAC, carrier infrastructures, internal/external cable plant, and overall data center layout. This is on- site at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years in Civil Engineering or the equivalent relevant experience in data center or mission critical facilities design.
- Active Secret Clearance to start (no interims)
- Experience managing hardware configuration baselines
- Experience with Data Center Strategy, Planning, and Roadmap maintenance
- Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety
- Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with DCIM management software such as NLYTE
- Data Center Management Certification a plus
Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist with all design aspects of the CCC data center support systems, to include AC/DC power, UPS, HVAC, carrier infrastructures, internal/external cable plant, and overall data center layout
- Produce architectural artifacts to include system design diagrams, recommendation justifications, and technical specifications.
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction
- Create and review civil/structural/architectural design RFPs.
- Conduct site assessments, internal design meetings, construction reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities
- Coordinate and control access and logistic support
- Follow Data centers procedures and processes
- Manage and coordinate the installation and maintenance of date center equipment
- Ensure compliance with data center security protocols
