Annual List Spotlights Staffing Firms Owned by Leaders from Underrepresented Groups

Mountain View, California – June 6, 2023 – Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global research and advisory firm focused on staffing and workforce solutions, published its 2023 Diversity-Owned Staffing Firms list for the United States and Canada. This year’s list includes 239 firms that self-identify as being under diversity ownership, an increase of 33 firms from the 2022 list.

“SIA remains committed to showcasing vital diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the staffing and workforce solutions ecosystem. Key data gleaned from the businesses on the 2023 list included:

  • 142 are owned by women
  • 126 firms cited diverse ethnic ownership
    • 78 Asian or South Asian
    • 27 Black
    • 16 Hispanic
    • 5 Native American
  • 26 firms are owned by veterans
  • 12 firms cited owners with disabilities
  • 9 firms reported LGBTQ+ ownership
  • 72 firms have owners representing multiple diverse groups

Firms on the list range from specialized, niche providers to larger-scale global organizations. Additionally, these businesses have representation across key staffing segments, including engineering, healthcare, IT, industrial, life sciences, marketing/creative, and office/clerical. The 2023 Diversity-Owned Staffing Firms encompass a wide range of services and solutions of great use to contingent workforce management professionals.

According to SIA’s Workforce Solutions Buyer Survey 2022 research report, creating diverse supplier programs ranked as enterprise organizations’ most popular strategy for supplier management. About 69% of large firms had a supplier diversity program in place with 25% seriously exploring program implementation within the next two years. Additionally, 59% of large firms have candidate diversity programs in place with 36% planning program implementation in the next two years.
